So is USPETA on some sort of anti-pet-owner jihad? That seems kinda stupid, since you'd think pet owners would be their natural fan base.
PETA is a wacko organization that thinks that animals have the same rights as humans and should be treated like humans. Which is why them killing unwanted "humans" strikes such a discordant note.

From Wiki

Quote:
PETA writes that it is an animal rights organization, and as such it rejects speciesism and the idea of animals as property, and opposes the use of animals in any form: as food, clothing, entertainment, or as research subjects.[24] One oft-cited quote of Newkirk's is: "When it comes to feelings like hunger, pain, and thirst, a rat is a pig is a dog is a boy."[12] The group has been criticized by other animal rights advocates for its willingness to work with industries that use animals—a position many animal rights advocates find problematic. Newkirk rejects the criticism, and has said of the group that it is here to hold the radical line
It's the bold part that makes them reject the notion of "Pets" and want them to be "Liberated" from their "Oppressors".

Right, I see. Well... perhaps if you sell it to them as abortion it will become palatable and even, dare I say it, cool?

Sell what to them? Killing animals they can't place? They are doing that already with a clear conscience.

I remember reading some where, that PETA liberated someone's pet dog, turned it loose, and it ran into the street and got hit by a car...

This is old news Man. They don't try to place them. They fill dumpsters with them.

So condemning. If they can't give'em liberty on account of fascist specieist ruling the roost, at least they can give them death!
